NAIL-SCISSORS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 5, 1921'.
Application filed September 18, 1920. Serial No. 411,303.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, RUDOLF Merlin, a
citizen of the German Republic, and residing at Solingen, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nail-Scissors, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in nail-scissors, and more particularly to a combination with the latter of a nail-cleaning instrument in such a way that when not in use the latter can be placed with a shell forming its handle over the sharp ends of the cuttingmembers of the pair of scissors while it engages with its other end in a lug provided on one of said out ting-members, said shell forming thus a guard for thesharp ends of said cuttingmembers, while the nailcleaning instrument can be easily detached for intended use of both the latter and said pair of nail-scissors.
The annexed drawing shows the improved arrangement.
Figures 1 and 2 are respectively front view and a side view of the same in combined position, while Figs. 3 and 4 show respectively the pair of nail scissors, (Z
of nail-scissors and the nail-cleaning instrument in separated position.
a, Z) are the cutting-members of the pair is a lug provided on one of said cutting members, f is the separate nail-cleaning instriunent adapted when not in use to engage with its shell-like handle 6 over the sharp ends of said cutting-members and with its free end 0 in said lug (Z.
What I claim, is
The combination with a pair of nailscissors, of a lug on one of the cutting members of the latter, and a separate nailcleaning instrument having a shell1ike handle and adapted when not in use to engage with the latter over the sharp ends of the cutting-members of said pair of nailscissors and with its free end in said lug, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
